Sustainable Fashion Researcher | Designer | Consultant
I am a sustainable fashion researcher, designer, and consultant working at the intersection of craft, culture, climate, and circularity. Over the years, my journey has been shaped by a deep respect for indigenous knowledge systems and a commitment to cultural and ecological sustainability. Through my work, I strive to bridge traditional wisdom with contemporary thinking, championing slow, intentional, and regenerative design practices.

As the Founder and Creative Head of Rustic Hue®, a research-led handloom label rooted in conscious creation, I collaborate closely with artisan communities primarily in the state of Odisha, located on the east coast of India and my design studio is based out of the city of Bangalore. My work is grounded in field research and long-term engagement, enabling me to navigate the evolving expectations of consumers, the lived realities of makers, and the persistent challenges within craft-based value chains.

With experience consulting for the Ministry of Textiles (India), the Crafts Council of India, and international academic institutions like the University of the Arts London, I contribute to projects centred on policy, pedagogy, and practice. I have also lectured at premier design and business schools such as NIFT, NID, OUTR, Delhi University, and JGU and have been invited to speak at panels addressing circular economy, social design, local communities & practices and climate-conscious fashion.

My practice is driven by the belief that fashion can be both a cultural expression and a climate solution if designed with empathy, equity, and responsibility. I am particularly invested in amplifying artisan voices, co-creating place-based narratives, and building systems honouring material integrity and human dignity.

I welcome collaborations with organisations and individuals who are reimagining the future of fashion, those who see design not just as an aesthetic pursuit, but as a tool for systemic change.
